Beschreibung

The paper describes the necessary equipment for a miniaturized automation setup, the process chain of an example product as well as the results of its assembly process. First the motivation for desktop factories is briefly explained. In the following, a miniaturized robot, its features, challenges as well as the measured results are presented. To complete the equipment, several pneumatically driven auxiliary micro tools are developed. These tools can be arranged in combination with the robot to install an automated miniaturized assembly setup that fits within a desktop size clean room environment. To prove the interaction of all systems, an exemplary assembly process of a three dimensional micro probe is presented.
