Designing Innovative Processes, Securing Value Creation: WGP Annual Congress to Be Held in Hanover Again in 2026

PZH | New theme, same location: Under the theme “Production Engineering as a Competitive Factor: Designing Innovative Processes, Securing Value Creation,” the Scientific Society for Production Engineering (WGP) invites you to its annual congress in Hanover from October 6 to 9, 2026.

In Focus: Remaining Competitive Through Innovation and Securing Value Creation

The 2026 WGP Annual Congress addresses a question that concerns many people, companies, and researchers: How can Germany remain competitive as a business location in the long term and secure future value creation? To answer this question, researchers can present their current work at the WGP Annual Congress at the Production Technology Center Hannover (PZH) and exchange ideas with colleagues from the field of production engineering.

The focus will be on

• innovative production technologies and process innovations,
• digital transformation and data-driven production,
• sustainable and resilient value creation systems,
• automation, robotics, and human-machine interaction,
• production management, factory operations, and innovation capacity, as well as
• scalable production systems

The 2026 WGP Annual Congress offers a central platform to discuss forward-looking research results and jointly generate momentum for competitive production in Germany.

Of particular interest to young researchers

As part of the annual conference, researchers have the opportunity to present their work following successful peer review and to publish their findings as a peer-reviewed paper in a conference proceedings volume published by Springer Nature. In addition to professional exchange, the annual conference offers a varied evening program that provides an opportunity to discover the attractive sides of Hanover and to foster personal interaction and national networking.

During the annual conference, outstanding young scientists will also be honored with the Otto Kienzle Memorial Medal.
