28 May 2018: Lecture by Christoph Herrmann - "Production in the field of tension between relative and absolute sustainability"

The "Future Laboratory: Production and Society" starts its third year of events. Christoph Herrmann, Professor of "Sustainable Production and Life Cycle Engineering" and Head of the Institute of Machine Tools and Production Technology at Technische Universität Braunschweig, will open the series on Monday, 28 May at 1 pm in the PZH. External guests are welcome!

Sustainability as still unattained but necessary prerequisite for an appropriate handling of planetary boundaries is the focus of the first lecture; in particular the difference between relative and absolute sustainability will be the topic of the lecture.Blockchain technologies with their hardly comprehensible effects for outsiders will follow in July - the areas of energy and publishing in particular will be highlighted; and finally, in October the focus will be on growing project complexity, which often pushes classical management to its limits or beyond, and the question: can one work differently well?  Further information on the Future Laboratory and the dates for 2018 can be found on the production and society page. All lectures are first and foremost addressed to the staff of the PZH, but guests are always welcome!
