The scientific staff of the member institutes of the Scientific Society for Production Engineering (WGP) will meet to get to know each other, make contacts and exchange expertise at the Assistant Meeting. After the Institute for Machine Tools (IfW) at the University of Stuttgart hosted the event last year following a two-year break due to the coronavirus, this year it will take place at the Hannover Centre for Production Technology (PZH) at Leibniz Universität Hannover.
A total of five member institutes of the WGP are located at the PZH in Garbsen: The Institute of Production Systems and Logistics (IFA), the Institute of Forming Technology and Forming Machines (IFUM), the Institute of Production Engineering and Machine Tools (IFW), the Institute of Transport and Automation Technology (ITA) and the Institute of Assembly Technology (match), which is organising the event this year.
Networking event with scientific exchange and football tournament The event will begin with the assistant meeting on 26 September 2023, where WGP scientific staff will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from all over Germany. Leisure and evening activities are on the programme to get to know each other better. The WGP networking event will take place on 27 and 28 September 2023 following the assistants' meeting. As part of the event, the WGP football tournament, which has been popular for years, will be held on 27 September. Around 200 researchers will compete against each other in a friendly match. On 28 September, the researchers will then have the opportunity to visit the Hannover Centre for Production Technology (PZH) and gain an insight into the main research areas of the institutes based here.
